RRRe underwrite a diversified portfolio of niche casualty lines of business via its Class 3B license, issued by the Bermuda Monetary Authority (‘BMA’).
With a primary focus on casualty lines of business, RRRe is a fast growing company with the goal of “ramping up” in 2024/25 to underwrite a further diversified portfolio to also include property and specialty business.

RRRe’s goal in the next 3 to 5 years will be to create a more diversified, balanced and profitable reinsurance portfolio by expansion into underwriting selected third party risk business to complement the strategic relationship with TPM.
THE PLATFORM.
01. Jurisdiction
Established by statute in 1969, the BMA’s role has evolved to meet the shifting needs in Bermuda’s financial services environment. The Supervision (Insurance) Department is responsible for the supervision, regulation, and inspection of Bermuda’s insurance companies and for the licensing of all insurance companies, brokers, agents and managers. The Insurance Act 1978 (Act) provides the Authority with substantive licensing, supervision, and intervention powers.
02. Experienced Reinsurance Team
Duncan King, CUO and Joe Bonanno Head of Reinsurance, continue to drive RRRe forward as an independent and consistently profitable reinsurance company in an ever changing market.
03. Outsourced Expertise & Market Relationships
RRRe benefits from the expertise of a Bermuda based network of advisors including a proprietary insurance manager, corporate secretarial service, legal services provider, and auditor.
04. Capital Management
RRRe and its Board members conservatively manage capital to maximize the long-term shareholder value of investors, while meeting regulatory and solvency requirements, as governed by the BMA rules on capital adequacy through the Economic Balance Sheet framework (Pillar 1).
05. Governance
RRRe has a strong ethos of corporate governance and is committed to business integrity, ethics and professionalism. The Board is responsible for the management and control of the RRRe’s strategy and overall policies, and is the decision making body for all material matters.
